Billing & Plans
Plan tiers, free trial, upgrades, downgrades, and how cancellation works.

Overview
Billing settings is where an account admin reviews the current plan, manages payment, and changes or cancels the subscription.
The page is split into two parts. The top section shows the active Plan with its price and team-size limits, plus a button to change it. The bottom section shows the Subscription: when the next bill is due, how to update the card on file, and the cancel and resume controls. Stagers and movers do not see this page.
Plans
Three monthly tiers. Every plan includes unlimited items and houses, barcode printing and scanning, themed rooms, role-based permissions, and Excel export.
- Basic ($49 / month) — up to 5 team accounts; no custom fields.
- Standard ($79 / month, recommended) — up to 10 team accounts; up to 5 custom fields.
- Professional ($99 / month) — up to 20 team accounts; up to 20 custom fields.
The plan card on the billing page shows your current tier and price. Click Change Plan to open the plan picker.
Free trial
Every new subscription starts with a 14-day free trial. The trial gives full access to whichever plan you picked.
A payment method is required up front to start the trial, but no charge is made until day 14. A trial banner at the top of the app shows how many days are left. When the trial ends, the card on file is charged and the subscription rolls into its first billing cycle automatically.
If no valid payment method is on file when the trial ends, the subscription expires and the team loses access until an admin reactivates it. A trial is only offered for brand-new accounts; subscribing again after a cancellation does not include another one.
Upgrading and downgrading
Plan changes happen from the same Change Plan dialog. Upgrades and downgrades both take effect immediately; the price difference is prorated on the next invoice.
Open Change Plan
On the billing page, click Change Plan in the plan card.Pick the new tier
Select the plan you want. The dialog shows each tier's price and limits so you can compare side by side.Confirm
Click Confirm Plan Change. The new plan applies right away. The remainder of the current period is prorated on the next invoice — a charge for the difference on an upgrade, a credit on a downgrade.
Payment method and invoices
Stripe handles cards, billing addresses, invoices, and receipts. The billing page hands off to the secure Stripe portal for those changes.

Click Manage Billing in the subscription section to open the Stripe-hosted billing portal in a new tab. The portal lets you update the card on file, change the billing address, download past invoices and receipts, and update the email that receipts are sent to. Changes made in the portal sync back to Staging Assistant immediately.
Accounts that started on PayPal can switch to a card by clicking Change Billing. The next billing cycle is preserved, so there is no double charge — the new card simply takes over from where PayPal left off.
Canceling and resuming
Canceling stops the next renewal but does not end access immediately. Full access continues to the end of the current billing period.
Click Cancel
On the billing page, click Cancel Subscription in the subscription section.Confirm
The confirmation dialog spells out the date access stays available until. Click Confirm to schedule the cancellation.Resume if you change your mind
While the subscription is in the canceling state, the page shows a Resume Subscription button. Clicking it restores the next renewal at the same plan and price; no extra charge until the next normal billing date.
After the available-until date passes, the subscription enters the expired state. Admins can reactivate from the in-app prompt by picking a plan and entering payment again. Resubscribing after expiration does not include another free trial.
When a subscription is past due or expired
If a charge fails or the subscription expires, the app shows different states for admins and the rest of the team.
Stripe retries a failed charge automatically. Admins can check the subscription status and update the card from the billing page; updating the card and retrying from the Stripe portal usually clears it. If the payment keeps failing and the subscription lapses, the app shows the expired-subscription screen described below.
When a subscription has fully expired, admins are routed to a subscription setup screen on sign-in and can reactivate by choosing a plan and entering payment. Stagers and movers see a short "Subscription expired" message asking them to contact their admin; the app itself is not accessible until the admin reactivates.
Who can access billing
The billing page is admin-only. The setting is tied to the Admin role and cannot be unlocked for stagers or movers.
Stagers and movers see no link to billing in the sidebar and cannot load the page directly. If billing needs to move to a different person, promote them to admin first; their existing role can be changed back afterward.
