Team & Roles
Invite teammates, assign Admin / Stager / Mover roles, and control what each role can see and edit.
Overview
A Staging Assistant account is a team account. Anyone you invite signs in with their own email and password, gets a role that controls what they can see and do, and can be removed without disturbing the rest of the team's work.
Team management is the Accounts entry in the main sidebar, and only Admins see it. From there you can invite a new teammate, change someone's role, or remove an account. Everyone, regardless of role, can update their own name, email, and password from their profile.

Roles
Three roles cover the people who actually use Staging Assistant day to day. Pick the lowest role that lets a teammate do their job; you can change it later.
Admin has full access. Admins manage the team and billing, see fees and rent on every house, run reports, and have create-edit-delete control over every record (houses, items, rooms, themed rooms, contacts, categories, custom fields). Pick this role for owners and managers.
Stager runs the day-to-day staging work. Stagers create and edit houses, items, rooms, themed rooms, contacts, and categories, and they can assign barcodes to items. Stagers cannot open the team or billing pages and cannot run reports. Pick this role for designers and project leads.
Mover is read-only on inventory and houses, with one extra power: a Mover can scan an unknown barcode and link it to an existing item. Movers cannot create, edit, or delete records, cannot see fees or rent, and cannot search for or open teammate accounts. Pick this role for warehouse staff who load trucks and check items back in.
Inviting a teammate
Adding a teammate sends them an email with a one-time link. They set their own password from that link; you never see or share it.

Open the accounts page
From the sidebar, open Accounts. Click Add a New User.Fill in the invite
Enter the teammate's name and email, and pick a role. The name is optional; if you leave it blank, the prefix of the email address is used until they update it themselves.Send the invite
Click Invite. The teammate receives an email from Staging Assistant with your name, your company name, and a link to set their password. They set a password and sign in
The link opens a page where they choose a password (12 characters or more). After they save it, they are signed in to your team and land on the dashboard. Their account appears in the accounts list as soon as you send the invite; they sign in via the invite link.
Changing a role or details
Pick any teammate from the accounts list to update their role, name, or internal notes. The same form is used for editing as for inviting.
Admins can edit any teammate's role at any time, except their own — you cannot demote yourself, which prevents an account from accidentally locking the team out of admin access. To hand the keys to someone else, promote them to Admin first, then ask them to edit your role.
The Notes field on each account is for internal context (shift, region, contractor vs. staff) and is only visible to Admins. The teammate themselves does not see it.
A teammate can change their own name, email, and password from Settings › General (reached from the avatar menu in the top-right corner or from the sidebar). Email is the one detail an Admin cannot edit for someone else — only the account owner can change it. Email and password changes both require the current password, and new passwords must be at least ten characters. Log out lives in the same two places: the avatar menu and the bottom of the sidebar.
Removing a teammate
When someone leaves, remove their account from the team page. Their access ends immediately and the seat opens up for someone else.
Open the teammate
From the team list, click the teammate you want to remove.Delete the account
Click Delete and confirm. The account is removed and any active session is invalidated.
The houses, items, rooms, and themed rooms the teammate worked on stay where they are; deleting an account does not delete the records they touched. You cannot delete your own account from this page — ask another Admin to remove you, or cancel the subscription from the billing page if you are the only Admin.
What Movers see
Movers have the most restricted view, so it is worth being specific about what they can and cannot do. The short version: a Mover can find what they need to load a truck, but cannot change the underlying records.
A Mover can:
- Browse the inventory list and open any item.
- Browse houses and open any house, room, or themed room.
- Scan an unknown barcode and link it to an existing item, which is often how new inventory is brought into the system on the warehouse floor.
A Mover cannot:
- Create, edit, or delete houses, items, rooms, themed rooms, categories, or contacts. The New button and edit-row controls are hidden, not just disabled.
- Create a new item from the unknown-barcode page. They can only associate the code with an item that already exists.
- See the fee or rent on a house.
- Search for or view teammates. Account results never appear in Mover search.
- Open the team page, the billing page, or reports.
Stagers fall in the middle. They have the same edit-and-delete reach as Admins for inventory and projects, including fees and rent on houses, but the same billing, team, and reports walls as Movers.
What's next
Roles change what other parts of the app look like. A few places where the difference shows up most:
- Plan limits set how many teammates you can invite. See billing and plans.
- Movers spend most of their time scanning. See barcodes for the scan-and-associate flow.
- Who can place an item on hold or check it out follows the same edit-vs-view rules. See holds and checkouts.
