Inventory
Track every furniture and décor item in your warehouse — quantities, photos, custom fields, and bulk actions. On mobile, the table becomes a touch-sized list or grid, filters collapse into a chip row with your saved views a tap away at its start, and scan actions stay in the header.
Overview
The Inventory page is where every item your business owns lives. Each row is one item — a sofa, a lamp, a stack of dinner plates — with a quantity, photos, optional category, and any custom fields you've set up.
Inventory is the foundation of every other workflow in Staging Assistant. Holds (items reserved for an upcoming stage), checkouts (items out at a house), themed rooms, reports — they all reference the items defined here.
Adding items on mobile
The flow mirrors desktop but uses a full-width mobile form with save buttons that are easy to tap one-handed.
Tap New in the mobile header. Required fields (name and quantity) come first, and the full form stays on its own page so the keyboard has room.
List and grid views
The full table is desktop-only. On mobile, use the List / Grid toggle to switch between a compact list and a two-column visual grid.
Use the list to find items by name and read their secondary details; use the grid to browse by photo.

Filter chips
Mobile keeps the search box and the Filter button in the top row and moves the filter chips to a horizontally-scrolling row beneath them.
Chips include the suggested item filters: Name, Available, Categories, and Checked Out By. Tap a chip to set its condition in a drawer that slides up from the bottom; the × on an active chip clears it. The Filter button next to the search box adds any other field, custom fields included.
Item detail drawer
When you're adding inventory to a house or themed room on mobile, selecting an item opens a bottom-sheet drawer so you can confirm the item before assigning it.
This flow starts from a house or themed room rather than from the inventory page itself, but the list it opens is the mobile inventory view described above:
Open Add Items from a house or room
The inventory list opens in assignment mode, scoped to the house, room, and hold or checkout state you came from.Tap an item
The drawer slides up from the bottom of the screen, covering most of the viewport and showing the item details plus assignment controls.Swipe down or tap the backdrop to close
Your scroll position in the inventory list is preserved.
What's next
Once your inventory is set up, these are the natural next steps:
- Connect items to a project on the houses page, then place them on hold for the upcoming stage.
- Build a themed room template from items you use together.
- Print barcodes so movers can scan items in and out from their phones.
